Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements (NEPA)

The need for a comprehensive assessment of a project's environmental impacts may be triggered at the federal, state, provincial, or local level.

GBK's environmental assessment team has prepared numerous environmental assessments (EA), environmental impact statements (EIS), and other studies mandated under the 1969 National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Our long involvement with NEPA projects has given us the advantage of active participation in the evolution of the NEPA process and the procedures of Federal agencies, such as the US Air Force, US Army and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Specific activities conducted by GBK of both direct contract and third-party EIS include:

	Preparation of public scoping documents;
	Participation in public scoping and interagency meetings;
	Preparation of scoping summaries and EIS study plans;
	Literature reviews and collection of existing data;
	Design and implementation of baseline studies;
	Impact analysis; and
	Cumulative impact assessment;
