Environmental,
Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) Management Systems
Executive orders, directives, business and mission
requirements have pointed to management systems as a
fundamental tool to reduce environmental, occupational
health, and safety impacts while ensuring that mission and
business objectives are achieved. Since 1995, GBK has
assisted our clients in developing and implementing
effective management systems to conform with prevailing
international standards, such as ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. GBK
consists of experienced professional ESOH engineers to
assist Program Managers with considering ESOH requirements
throughout the life cycle of their systems and subsystems,
from concept exploration through ultimate disposal. |
|
Our Approach
GBK assists with the
programmatic and contractual planning necessary to ensure
that ESOH issues are integrated into the systems engineering
process. We then develops appropriate Pollution
Prevention Plans, ESOH Policy Statements, Environmental/ESOH
Management Plans and Strategies, System Safety Plans, and
ESOH Evaluations. Our team conducts ESOH compliance
audits of prime contractors and programs, prepares key
program documentation for program review and milestones, and
facilitates program teams and focus groups. Throughout
the process, GBK provides ESOH awareness training and
facilitates the compliance with the requirements of the
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Implementation Services
In that period, the EMS Group
have worked not only to develop a comprehensive
understanding of international environmental, health and
safety management system standards (such as ISO 14001) , but
to concentrate on their application to existing management
schemes. The EMS Group has assisted organizations
ranging from the Malaysian government to the US Army in
implementing the compliant systems. In 1998, a GBK
client was the first DoD contracting organization to be
registered.
