Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training (HAZWOPER)

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response standard outlines many separate, and significantly different employee training requirements for wide variety of activities involving working with hazardous wastes.  These requirements are often confused with one another, as well as confused with other regulatory training requirements (e.g., RCRA 262.15).   To ensure compliance, as well as the health and safety of installation personnel, it is imperative that employers provide the appropriate training.

GBK offers fourteen separate programs of instruction each designed to satisfy a distinct combination or permutation required by HAZWOPER and the related DODI 6050.5 requirements.  GBK's project development and contracting representatives are happy to assist you in identifying which program is right for your requirement.

GBK's HAZWOPER Qualifications

The GBK Team has been supporting restoration and remediation personnel at Superfund sites (CERCLA), DERA, RCRA corrective-action sites, and RCRA TSDF's  around the world for over ten years.  Our experience includes preparing site safety and health plans (HASP), as well as developing and implementing on-site training programs.

GBK has over 300,000 student/contact hours of training experience under DoDI 6050.5 and OSHA's Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (OSHA29CFR1910.120).  This series of training is delivered by a team of EPA Approved (HMIRO 165.5) instructors with both the academic qualifications (industrial hygiene, environmental health) and practical experience to ensure that students receive the competencies requisite to ensure their safety and well-being in hazardous environments.
