Course Description

This course focuses on how to manage and operate a RCRA Hazardous Waste (HW) Storage facility.  Materials include current editions of RCRA regulations.  This course in designed to meet the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) mandatory HW training requirements (40 CFR 264.16(a)).

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for Environmental Protection Specialists or anyone who has duties/responsibilities for the management and/or operation of a RCRA HW storage facility.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  1. identify hazardous waste and assign appropriate EPA waste number(s);

  2. identify generator requirements at 40 CFR Part 262;

  3. identify RCRA storage facility requirements at 40 CFR 264/265;

  4. verify that land disposal restriction notification forms are correctly and completely prepared;

  5. list the appropriate responses for an emergency; and

  6. locate (in the regulations) appropriate management standards for various recyclable materials.
