Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA) Generator Compliance (32-hours)

Course Description

This course focuses on how to comply with RCRA Hazardous Waste (HW) generator requirements.  Materials include current editions of RCRA regulations.  This course is designed to meet the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) mandatory training requirements (40 CFR 265.16 (c)).

This course in intended for Environmental Protection Specialists, Unit Environmental Compliance Officers, Environmental NCOICs, or anyone who has duties/responsibilities for generating and/or managing HW under RCRA generator status.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  1. follow a process to identify HW and assign appropriate EPA waste number(s);

  2. identify generator requirements at 40 CFR, Part 262;

  3. review land disposal restriction notification forms to verify they are correctly and completely prepared;

  4. explain appropriate responses for emergency situations; and

  5. locate in the regulations, appropriate management standards for various recyclable materials.
