Training is no longer only about all day or all week in the classroom. We can blend in-person, instructor-led sessions with webinars, online training programs and mobile applications to provide a truly modern, immersive  and ultimately effective training experience.

GBK has long had GIS capabilities to support our work with EHS plan development, but we have rapidly expanded into drone imagery and mapping photogrammetry operations. Aerial imagery provides real-world enhancements to projects and response situations, not easily affordable until recently. Drones are now replacing satellites for access to  and efficient high-resolution imagery for mapping applications, and quickly map emergency response situations. Using  photogrammetry mapping and 3D modeling  techniques, as well as providing high resolution drone photo and video aerial , GBK is primarily supporting projects in these areas:

• infrastructure inspections

• commercial property and undeveloped land parcel real estate

• archaeology and cultural resources

GBK has been actively involved in ISO Management Systems and their implementation since the formation of the working group for the ISO14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) standard back in the mid1990s. Since then we have assisted multiple military organizations implement ISO-conformant EMSs across the US and Europe. In more recent years attention has turned to ISO45001 the globally accepted Occupational Health and Safety Management System and almost 350,000 organizations globally have adopted the standard by the end of 2024  - a substantial international commitment to worker safety. GBK offers consulting support, not only with formal management system implementation, but also with the consideration of broad EHSQ concepts for companies and organizations wishing to go beyond legal compliance to develop sustainable work practices and policies, but without formal certification. Even if a formal management system is not being followed, the continual process plan-do-check-act can be adopted internally to produce definable results and reduced risk.

​At GBK we believe plans should be usable, concise, interactive and meaningful. Voluminous amounts of dry text sat on a shelf isn't an effective plan.  Increasingly we integrate GIS mapping and solutions into our plan production to bring real time data to those who need it. 

GBK has a long track record over the years  environmental monitoring, data analysis (including statistical analysis) and result interpretation. To this day we retain the capacity to perform a suite of environmental monitoring operations and support services, specifically:

 

• Phase I/II Assessments

• Landfill monitoring (groundwater/methane)

• Invasive species mapping

• Nutrient enrichment surveys and regression analyses

As regulatory specialists we offer full interpretation of findings within the scope of existing regulations, but can also identify trends within data to flag future potential non-conformances. We work with our partners to provide a full turnkey service from scoping, fieldwork and sampling, lab analysis, result collation and interpretation, and recommendations for further action.
